United States – 2/6/2026 — Celebrated Kenyan music icon Jose Gatutura and his band are set to embark on an expansive multi-city cultural tour across the United States, this Spring. This extended tour will span numerous cities nationwide, offering electrifying shows that highlight the richness and storytelling power of Kikuyu Mugithi music.

The Jose Gatutura Band, featuring Gatutura, powerhouse vocalist Kareh B, and dynamic multi-instrumentalist Marto Martz, will deliver high-energy performances rooted in the traditional Mugithi genre—renowned for its expressive guitar work, call-and-response vocals, and vibrant cultural narratives.

“This tour is a celebration of our heritage and our people,” said Jose Gatutura. “We’re excited to connect with the diaspora and introduce Mugithi to brand-new audiences across the U.S.”

Each stop on the tour will deliver an immersive cultural experience, featuring music, cuisine, fashion, and elements that capture the heart and spirit of Kikuyu culture.

The tour is being produced in collaboration with U.S.-based cultural partners and is created by 1AFR Group.

In addition to the tour, the band has confirmed a major U.S. cultural event in Seattle.
